These awards reflect the trust and confidence the community continues to place in Owensboro Health providers, team members and services.
 
Each year, Owensboro Living invites readers to vote for the people and organizations making a meaningful difference across the region. This year’s recognition highlights Owensboro Health’s commitment to compassionate care, clinical excellence and a people‑first culture.

Best Place to Work (Platinum Winner)
Owensboro Health was named Best Place to Work, reinforcing its reputation as an employer that values purpose, collaboration and growth. Best Physician (Platinum Winner) – Dr. John Phillips
Dr. John Phillips earned Platinum recognition for his work at Owensboro Health Children’s Center, where care is built around strong partnerships with families. The practice recognizes parents and caregivers as a child’s primary advocate and works closely with them to guide medical decisions and create care plans that respect each family’s values.
From listening carefully to concerns to answering questions with patience and clarity, Dr. Phillips and the Children’s Center team focus on empowering families to support their child’s health at home and beyond. Owensboro Health’s pediatric services support children up to age 17, from routine checkups to emergency care and surgery, helping young patients thrive through every stage of growth and development.

Best Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant (Platinum Winner) – Sylvia Sweatt, APRN
Owensboro native and family nurse practitioner Sylvia Sweatt has been caring for local patients for more than 30 years. She was named Platinum winner for Best Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant for her dedication to Primary Care and Family Medicine at Owensboro Health.
Sylvia provides comprehensive primary care for patients age 12 and older, diagnosing and treating acute and chronic conditions, delivering wellness visits and offering simple dermatology services. She says practicing at Owensboro Health allows her to connect patients with trusted resources that support both individual health and the greater community.
“Knowing my patients and their families brings me the greatest joy,” Sylvia said. “I want to be a part of their health journey, helping restore them to optimal health throughout all the changes that life brings. Helping people feel their best is an honor for me.”
 
Best Gym and Fitness Center (Platinum Winner)
Owensboro Health Healthpark was again recognized as the region’s premier fitness and wellness destination. Healthpark supports healthier lifestyles through personal training, disease management programs and community‑focused wellness initiatives designed for all ages and abilities.

 
Best Urgent Care (Gold Winner)
Owensboro Health Urgent Care received Gold recognition for delivering convenient, high‑quality care when patients need it most. Urgent care teams provide efficient, expert treatment while keeping comfort, compassion and accessibility at the forefront.
