OHTLMC Recognized as a Top 100 Rural & Community Hospital for Second Year in a Row
Owensboro Health Twin Lakes Medical Center announced that it has been named one of the 2026 Top 100 Rural & Community Hospitals by The Chartis Center for Rural Health. The recognition as a Top 100 hospital for the second year in a row reflects the sustained excellence that OHTLMC providers and team members bring to patients every day.
“I’m incredibly proud of the work we do for our communities, and OHTLMC is committed to providing reliable care to the communities we serve," said Ashley Herrington, CEO of Owensboro Health Twin Lakes Medical Center. "This recognition demonstrates our continued focus on ensuring our communities have access to high‑quality care close to home."
Chartis’ annual Top 100 award honors outstanding performance among rural hospitals across the country, based on the results of the Chartis Rural Hospital Performance INDEX.
“The delivery of care within rural communities is perhaps more complex today than at any point in recent memory. This year’s Top 100 Rural & Community Hospitals have emerged as true leaders – committed to their mission through a powerful combination of resilience, dedication and innovation,” said Michael Topchik, Executive Director of The Chartis Center for Rural Health. “We’re delighted to recognize this year’s winners and celebrate their Top 100 status.”
The INDEX is the industry’s most comprehensive and objective assessment of rural hospital performance. Using publicly available data, it is utilized nationwide by rural hospitals, health systems, hospital associations and state offices of rural health to measure and monitor performance across key areas that impact operations and financial stability.
OHTLMC is proud to be recognized for doing the work that matters most, caring for our neighbors and strengthening the health of our communities.
