Biography
After caring for patients in Bowling Green, Kentucky, for more than 25 years, orthopedic specialist Dr. David Richards is now proud to bring his expertise to patients at Owensboro Health.
“As a surgeon, I love the tangible experience of ‘fixing’ something with immediate results,” says Dr. Richards. “It’s very gratifying to relieve a patient’s pain and see them recover to resume a high level of activity.”
“My job is to educate and counsel my patients, so they have as much knowledge as possible to make their decisions regarding treatment,” he says. “It’s essential my patients know I want what is best for their long-term health.”
Dr. Richard’s wife and three grown children are of greatest importance to him. “My wife of 34 years has ‘stuck it out and still seems to like me,’” he says. His golf game has improved from "bad to mediocre" and is a work in progress. A bucket-list travel destination for him and his wife is a “nice, long trip to Italy.”
